Welcome to part 2 of the 3-part podcast series on help with school.

Sensory overload can be torturous for anyone, but especially for a child on the autism spectrum. In this podcast interview with sensory motor integration specialist, Sonia Story, we explore the many tools a parent can learn and provide for their own child at home to balance sensory issues.

Sonia Story developed the Brain and Sensory Foundations online course to meet the enormous need for effective brain, body and sensory-motor integration tools. The movements are used to help overcome a wide variety of learning, behavioral, emotional, social, physical and mental health challenges.

Sonia Story is certified as an instructor of Rhythmic Movement Training and has been mentored directly with Harald Blomberg, MD, and with Moira Dempsey, authors of the book, ‘Movements That Heal’, as well as with many other leaders in integrative movement. She teachers these profound movements to parents, OTs, PTs, SLPs, educators, mental health therapists, and caregivers, and her company, Move Play Thrive is an approved provider through the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Brain and Sensory Foundations course is approved for Continuing Competency through the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
