A healthy gut means better physical health and better behavior from your child. A healthy gut lining will not release toxins into the bloodstream that negatively affect the brain. The gut also has a direct connection to the functioning of the immune system. Up to 80% of the immune system is developed in the gut.

Along with the right foods probiotic supplements are the best source of rebuilding the body’s natural “good” bacteria in the gut. Probiotics crowd out the bad bacteria, build the good, and help your entire system to better utilize nutrients from the foods we eat. Probiotic  supplements should have multiple strains of the right building and fighting bacteria such as Just Thrive.

Some helpful foods for healing the gut are:

  1. Soup broth made from animal meat with the bones in.
  2. Fish is not inflammatory so it is your best source of protein. Chicken and beef are helpful.
  3. Eggs are a good source of protein, although in the beginning if there is diarrhea they should be omitted. Watch for allergies to eggs, especially the whites.
  4. Healthy oils such as cold pressed olive oil, and coconut oil.
