As I write this I want to be sure you know it’s never just one thing, but a combination of them that triggers anything, including seizures. Autism is a complicated diagnosis with many underlying biological issues that need to be addressed properly so the body can strengthen on its own. We don’t want to mask symptoms, but work with the causes.

Here are common culprits of seizures to be worked with:

Diet

Remember that the gut controls the brain and up to 80% of the immune system, so take diet seriously! A diet low in carbohydrates and higher in Keto based foods is best. You can begin by removing the top 7 foods that contribute to inflammation and leaky gut syndrome. Get your free guide to them here.

Histamines

Histamines, whether food based or environmental can be a trigger for many things such as anxiety, sleep issues, increased stimming, mast cell activation syndrome, and seizures.

Environmental factors can include things in and around your home such as chlorine which is not only in swimming pools but also in our household water. Always use a quality filter for your drinking water such as the Aquatru. Also use a shower filter to help remove chlorine from the shower since the hot steam allows it to enter our pores in the shower. Santeforhealth.com has a shower filter and a bathtub bulb filter for those areas.

Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)

Monosodium glutamate is a food additive that is also an excitotoxin. This means it excites your brain cells to death. It is also a common trigger for anger. Read more and listen to my podcast on Excitotoxicity and learn other hidden names of this to look for on food labels. The artificial sweetener called Aspartame is also an excitotoxin and should always be avoided.

Mold Biotoxins

Mold Biotoxins are a trigger for Atypical seizures. The cascade of inflammation that affects multiple systems of the body including the hormonal system renders the susceptibility from other toxins. Be sure your home is mold free and your child is not exposed anywhere else such as school, grandma’s house, therapy rooms, etc.

Mold biotoxins create chronic inflammation that can suppress melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH), and its pathways. MSH regulates the pituitary, and therefore, your hormones. It also has anti-inflammatory functions. Lowered MSH reduces the production of melatonin which affects sleep. The production of endorphins is suppressed which can lead to chronic pain.

Further, lowered MSH can cause leaky gut which inhibits the absorption of nutrients from food, weakens and deregulates the immune system. The regulation of cytokine response by white blood cells which lowers the body’s ability to fight infections. Your level of MSH usually correlates with your level of energy. Usually, the lower your levels of MSH are, the lower your energy is. Low MSH can also result in lowered resistance to Staphylococcus bacteria colonizing in the nasal pathways. The symptoms of mold biotoxin illness, or chronic inflammation, mimic many other autoimmune diseases.

Parasites

Parasites are commonly missed in testing so I do not advocate spending your money on the tests. Symptoms are your best guide. Seizures are a common symptom of parasites.

The problems caused by parasites do not come from the bugs themselves but from the existing co-infections in the body. Parasites bring with them bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Viruses in the nervous system often come from Staphylococcus and lungworm.

Heavy Metals

Heavy metals such as mercury and lead also affect the hormonal system like mold does. Lead and mercury are the most common for this.

Most practitioners use the pharmaceutical drug called DMSA for heavy metal detoxification, but this allows for reabsorption of the toxins as they are being excreted and it pulls out the good minerals we need to keep such as calcium and magnesium. Natural detoxification of heavy metals is crucial for your best success. I use a natural product for this in my program.  For more on this please see, Toxic Heavy Metals Linked to Severe Autistic Behaviors.

Puberty

Puberty often begins for many kids around the age of twelve. From age twelve to eighteen you may notice increased behaviors of anger, agitation, and increased susceptibility to seizures. It is worse for boys because they have a surge of testosterone during puberty that combusts with mercury and lead making them more toxic. The brain is more vulnerable during these ages.

Quickly Reduce Your Child's Symptoms of Autism by Eliminating 7 Specific Foods that Most People Consume Daily!

The first crucial step of autism recovery is to begin restoring health to the gut and the immune system.

The health of the gut is directly linked to the health of the brain and therefore to the symptoms of autism. In fact, 80% of the immune system comes from the gut so if the gut is not healthy, then the brain can’t thrive, and the immune system is compromised. It’s a vicious cycle, but thankfully, it’s one that we can put an end to by first eliminating harmful foods.

This is for informational purposes only and is not meant to diagnose or treat.
